Our Victim Impact Panel provide a forum for victims of DWI to tell a group of offenders about the impact of the crime on their lives and on the lives of their families, friends, and neighbors.
Our panels involve offenders and victim speakers, telling their stories in a non-judgmental, non-blaming manner.
With recreational marijuana legalization in the State of New Mexico, many people have questions about marijuana and cannabis culture. Some may be thinking of trying marijuana for the very first time, while others may be more experienced consumers hoping to expand their marijuana knowledge. However, this often isn’t the case. Marijuana is a psychoactive drug which impacts the brain in several ways, including memory, motor skills, and concentration.
These effects can have significant effects on driving and any other activity requiring attention and motor coordination and it can cause driving a vehicle to become dangerous.
You do not have to Drive While Impaired. Plan Ahead!
About Impact DWI
Impact DWI is a community action and advocacy organization, which puts an emphasis on ending alcohol abuse in New Mexico and is run strictly by volunteers.
We are based in Santa Fe and have been in operation since 1999. We are a tax-exempt corporation operating under section 501 c (3) of the internal revenue code.
We contribute to the following:
Driving while impaired is a risky business and has a negative impact in your future.
Substance abuse treatment is a common requirement for DWI offenders.
We often participate in DWI Checkpoints. Our presence is an incentive and support to the Law Enforcement.
If you or a loved one is experiencing any kind of emotional crisis, mental health or substance use concern, you can find help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line or Peer- to-Peer Warmline.
Have you been injured or lost a loved one in a DWI Crash? Would you like to share your story at our Victim Impact Panels?
Share your story with us.
There are several options available to you.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is partnering with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and Uber to offer safe rides to New Mexicans during the holiday season. NMDOT’s Traffic Safety Division received a grant from GHSA to fund the rides through Uber in an effort to stop DWI.
There is no excuse for driving under the influence. Get a safe ride home.
Users will be able to use a $15 Uber credit that does not include tips with the ride code ENDWI2021. Rides will be offered anywhere in New Mexico wherever Uber is available from Tuesday, November 23, 2021, through Friday, January 3, 2022, focusing on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve holidays.
