Sober Driving Pledge Campaign

Many people think that they can drive safely after drinking alcoholic beverages.
The fact is that every drink, even the first, doubles, the risk of an alcohol related crash. What's needed is a change in the societal attitude toward driving after drinking.

WHAT IS THE PLEDGE?
To show my support for safe driving.

I PLEDGE TO DRIVE SOBER.
Why Pledge?

1. To raise awareness that each additional drink doubles the risk of a DWI crash.
2. To publicize the damage done by drunk drivers each year. 17,000 deaths in the US in 2006.
3. To provide leadership in reducing drunk driving.
4. To influence our churches, businesses, and governmental organizations to sponsor Sober Driving Pledge Campaigns for their members.
5. To reduce the community-wide acceptance of driving after drinking.
6. Ultimately to save some of the lives, injuries, and crashes that result from DWI.
7. To make you and your family members safer.

Some Good Reasons To Drive Only When Sober.

Because I don't want to kill anyone.
Because I don't want to injure anyone.
To set a good example for my children.
To make me and my family safer.
To make driving safer for everyone.
To raise awareness of the effects of DWI.
